Is it possible to be antiscene?

Lately, I've been sick of everything I see. It's like every subculture that has been anticonsumer has become blatantly generic. It seems like things become more and more artificial.
So I'm opting out. F categorizing identities.

surely anti-scene is a scene in itself? can't you just be non-scene?

ok. similar problem. i just disproved my own theory.

anti-scene suggests being actively against 'scene'. disaffected people, united by being actively for or against a cause. there, you got yourself a scene.

so i don't think you can be anti scene. but i do know what you mean. punk culture isn't just something red, black and stripey you can by from a chain of shops, thats the same as everyone else's in your 'scene'. or swooshy hair.

it's like people with anti-capitalism t shirts :P

I guess you'd have to think like.. If someone is scene, or, well not anymore but how it started, They were someone that's on top of all the trends, on top of the music scene, someone who knows every ----ing thing going on. to be anti-scene would mean you don't do s---.. so I guess people that sit on their fat ---- mama's couch all day playin' halo would be considered anti-scene. although, if you think about it all ----in' scene kids are non-conformists, so it doesn't really matter what the ---- you do. You can't be anything these days, You can't even be nothing. Because then you'd be as trendy as ---- and people would beat the s--- out of you. Just sayin..

Scene kids: there are some that dress and act the way they do because they truly enjoy it (no ----ing idea why) but a lot of scenes now are conformists. They're going to hot topic and warped tour because they want to fit in with a group. Ever seen the south park goth kids? My favorite quote from them: If you want to be one of the nonconformists all you have to do is dress just like us and listen to the same music we do. Sadly it's not just scenes that do this. In every subculture you'll find people that are in it for all the wrong reasons

`I'm gonna have to agree with rosescream. Honestly, if you really want to be "non-scene" or "anti-scene", do what you want to do. I would call myself punk because I listen to punk and hardcore and subscribe to some punk ideals, but I don't dress "punk" generally. Sometimes I throw the hawk up, but that's about it. Just dress in a way that's aesthetically pleasing to you, listen to music you enjoy listening to and freely associate with the people you want to... oh, wait, that sounds like an anarchist.
