The Germs, Black Flag. Is Punk Really Dead?

What other kid my age knows about them? haha. It's not because, they 'get me' or because, their music is ----ing rad. It's because, they make me forget that I'm lost and confused, that I know nothing about myself, they make me feel like I'm on stage with them, screaming into the microphone.

I say Punk isn't dead, it's just as lost and confused as we are, and all of the people who had it somewhat figured out lived too fast and died too young, that's all. What is your opinion on that subject?

Some Germ-ridden failures say that punk died with Darby.. I see how they could think that. But what I want to know is what YOU think. Is Punk dead? Wouldn't it just live on in those of us that are truly punk? I know I might not seem that way, but I've lived punk, my family lives punk. I slept in the streets, and got my money by pickpocketing and doing 'odd jobs' which I won't get into. But Punk lives on in me, I brought it back to my family, I got my germs burn, I earned it.

So I may not seem punk, but I know my way around the label. I know what it's like to get s--- thrown at you for not being a raging drug addict, like your fellow 'punks'. People are so bitter, so sore, so confuzed.

Who cares if you are well educated, or a middle school drop out. Punk still lives in you, if you call yourself a punk, then let it out a bit, make it's presence known.

`Well written. Punk isn't dead, and never will be dead. It's not just a fashion or a genre of music, it's a mindset. You're born a punk. Besides, it'd be better if the punk subculture remained unknown to the normal populace so s----nosed little brats don't the meaning.

`Agreed. People who say punk has died musically, probably haven't spent much time looking for what else is out there. There's a ton being cranked out everyday. They're missing the big picture of punk as an ideal.
